Your shares in TEFCU are federally insured  and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government by the National Credit Union Administration, an U.S. Government Agency.  The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, signed into law on October 3, 2008, increased the insurance coverage on all accounts up to $250,000 through December 31, 2009.  As of May 20, 2009, the increased insurance coverage  has been extended until December 31, 2013.  Individual Retirement Accounts are insured separately for an additional  $250,000.
